Nestled in the foothills of the Great River Valley is the town of of Snakecave Mounds, less than 200 miles northwest of Nashville.
Numerous caverns and burial mounds cover the surrounding area, making it a hot spot for excavations and geological studies.
The Wanahopa Tribe still have a large presence in Snakecave Mounds, operating a casino and maintaining their ancestors' most sacred sites.
In 1979 there was a major confrontation between local tribesmen and a group of archeologists, resulting in three deaths.

The youngest daughter of Maxwell and Wanda Stone, Connie has always had difficulty finding her place in the world.
