Haven Acres is an affluent, gated community just across the street from Princemoore University's campus.
Noted for its Gothic architecture, the neighborhood has been featured on several student documentaries, one of which won an award.
There are at times friction between the local police and Haven Acres' security guards, but generally these differences are worked out easily.
Located in the center of the neighborhood is a community center where many of the children are brought to be "home schooled."

Douglass happily serves White River City's Fourth District. His re-election every four years is nearly guareenteed, not only because of his family's background and solid constituency but also his hard work and dedication. Laura Butler was born into a religious family on the north side of Lake Land Harbor. Her father, Roland Butler, was a preacher for Brimstone Ministries. The Ministry was constantly embroiled in controversy for its narrow interpretation of Scripture, even believing that blacks and whites should live apart because of the "curse of Cain" put upon the "Negro Race" as her father would constantly preach. Although she left the church in her 20's, she has been born again since beginning her own family.

Brandley is a quiet, reserved boy. While he has made friends at the Haven Acres Community Center, he seems to do better in one-on-one tutoring with his mother. Highly imaginative, he knows that he must keep many of his drawings and writings away from his mother's prying eyes, lest they be destroyed for their impiety.
